FAQ's about Edmonton Towing
At Edmonton Towing, we realize that choosing a towing company that is honest and shows integrity can be challenging. We are trustworthy and while we understand your desire to get your vehicle back, there are some things you need to know about the process of getting your vehicle out of storage. We will do our best to answer common questions below, and welcome all other questions when you contact us by phone or email.
Question: Law enforcement has a hold on my vehicle. Can Edmonton Towing get my vehicle out of storage?
Answer: We do not interfere with law enforcement holds on vehicles. If law enforcement puts a hold on your vehicle or the contents in the vehicle, we do not determine the appropriateness of the hold. You must work with law enforcement to get the hold released. We will gladly tow your vehicle once all clearances have been obtained.
Question: I need to get my vehicle out of storage. Is the storage facility required to release my vehicle any hour of the day or night?
Answer: Vehicle storage facilities are not required to have an employee on site at all times. If the vehicle storage facility accepts vehicles 24 hours a day for storage, the storage facility typically must also be available to release vehicles 24 hours a day with one hour's notice. Otherwise, the availability will vary.
Question: My vehicle was damaged while stored at a vehicle storage facility. Does Edmonton Towing have any insurance information for vehicle storage facilities?
Answer: Vehicle storage facilities that store vehicles without the owner’s consent are required to file proof of garage keepers insurance. This type of policy may help cover the expenses of loss or damage that occurs while the vehicle is stored.
Question: I do not want to get my vehicle out of storage, yet but I need to get my personal items out of the vehicle. What do I need to take to the vehicle storage facility?
Answer: The vehicle owner or owner’s authorized representative is allowed to remove personal items from the vehicle after presenting a valid photo, state or nationally issued photo identification (such as a drivers license), plus proof that you are legally allowed and have law enforcement permission to remove the items.
Question: May I take my stereo out of the vehicle?
Answer: The vehicle may not be dismantled and parts may not be removed, so the vehicle owner may not remove items such as the engine, tires, or installed stereo.
Question: Do I have to pay the storage fees before I can get personal property, such as clothes, medicine, and tools?
Answer: Payment of towing and storage fees is not required before releasing personal property only.
Question: How can I contact Edmonton Towing for additional information?
